Ghana’s 2024 Emancipation Day celebration focuses on unity, resilience, and building stronger communities. Join the GDAAR Foundation in honoring this legacy and supporting educational initiatives for a brighter future.
The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has officially launched the 2024 Emancipation Day celebrations, a time for reflection, commemoration, and unity. With the theme “Unity and Resilience; Building Stronger Communities for a Brighter Future,” the event promises a powerful tribute to the ancestors who fought for freedom and a call for continued progress.
Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mark Okraku-Mantey, emphasized the importance of acknowledging the struggles and triumphs of the past, drawing strength from them to build a more cohesive and prosperous future. The celebration serves as a reminder of the harsh realities of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade and the need to overcome lingering divisions.
The GDAAR Foundation, dedicated to empowering Ghanaian communities through education, stands in solidarity with this momentous occasion. We believe that education is the key to unlocking a brighter future for all Ghanaians, and we are committed to supporting initiatives that promote access, quality, and equity in education.
In line with the spirit of Emancipation Day, we call upon our supporters and volunteers to join us in our mission. We are currently seeking remote volunteers in the following areas:
- Remote Administrator: To help us manage our daily operations and ensure smooth communication.
- Remote Fundraiser: To assist in securing the financial resources needed to sustain our impactful programs.
- Remote Project Manager: To oversee the planning and execution of our various educational projects.
- Remote Web Developer: To maintain and enhance our online presence, ensuring that our website is informative and user-friendly.
- Graphic Designer: To create visually compelling materials that effectively communicate our mission and impact.
By volunteering your time and skills, you can make a tangible difference in the lives of countless Ghanaian students and educators.
Furthermore, we invite you to support our Visa on Arrival and GoFundMe campaign. This initiative aims to facilitate the arrival of international volunteers who are eager to contribute their expertise to our programs on the ground in Ghana. Your generous donations will cover the costs associated with visa processing, travel, and accommodation, making it possible for these volunteers to join us in our efforts to transform education in Ghana.
This Emancipation Day, let us unite in celebrating our shared heritage, honoring the sacrifices of our ancestors, and working together to build a stronger, more resilient Ghana.
