If you are planning to travel to Ghana and you do not have a visa, you will need a Pre-Approval Letter (OK to Board). This letter is an important requirement that allows you to board your flight and makes it easier to get your visa on arrival at Kotoka International Airport.
Service Hours
Diaspora Affairs Ghana offers this service to travelers. We are available from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM GMT. There is also a 24-hour support option, so travelers can get assistance outside regular working hours if needed.
Payment for the Pre-Approval Letter
The cost of the pre-approval letter is 1,400 GHS. Payments should be made via Mobile Money to the following account:
- Number: +233 544 240 294
- Account Name: GDAAR Foundation
How the Process Works
- Make your payment through the Mobile Money details provided.
- Once your payment has been confirmed, your application will be processed.
- You will then receive your official Pre-Approval Letter (OK to Board), which you must present when arriving in Ghana.
Final Payment at the Airport
When you arrive at Kotoka International Airport, you will need to make a final payment of 200 US dollars at the immigration counter to receive your visa.
Travelers from African Union (AU) member states do not have to pay the 1,400 GHS fee for the pre-approval letter.
Important Things to Remember
- The Pre-Approval Letter is required for most travelers who do not already have a visa.
- Make sure your payment is confirmed before you travel.
- Your official Pre-Approval Letter must be presented at the immigration counter in order to receive your visa.
